The food is in the style of the experienced chef: the taste is always a real hit. An experience for the taste buds, stylishly prepared and yet light, sometimes playful and sometimes “simple” like at home.

Born in Hesse, he has a lot of experience in his job: He was head chef and creative head at the renowned restaurant Lila in Portals from …. to …. He was head chef and creative head at the renowned Lila restaurant in Portals. In the years before that, he delighted the palates of guests as executive chef at the former Dorint in Camp de Mar on Mallorca. And even before his “Mallorca times”, he cooked in various star-rated restaurants.

He learned the art of cooking from Bertold Siber at the Seehotel Siber Relais & Chateaux (1 Michelin star) in Constance on Lake Constance. To this day, he is still in contact with his master, who introduced him to classical French cuisine and allowed him to discover his love for it.

Getting “stars” for the Adelfas by Jens is far from the mind of the down-to-earth, always friendly family man. His wife Nicole and his children are more important to him than stardust. His regulars don’t care, because they appreciate the food in their second “living room” even without an award.

His speciality is spices and herbs. The dishes should be meaningful and – to use Jens’ words: “have a lot of kick and come without frippery!

Vegans, health-conscious people or people with intolerances are also very welcome at Adelfas by Jens and can be served with a wonderful 3-course menu. Chef Jens and his brigade#Brigade love a challenge and delicious, exciting, all-vegetable cuisine.

Whether in the lounge in the garden, in the separate pavilion or in the well air-conditioned indoor area of the Adelfa, everyone can feel at home. And by “everyone” Jens Bräuning really means everyone!

The terrace is ideally suited, for example, to let the quiet four-legged friend sleep under the table while the master and mistress enjoy a nice glass of wine. The wind-protected, beautifully landscaped terrace also provides the perfect setting for a birthday party or a company outing. If the weather is not so stable, or you would like even more privacy, we can arrange the pavilion, which is completely separate and apart from the restaurant, according to your wishes.

Slightly minimalist and yet very stylishly furnished, the pavilion is a popular choice for guests who would like to retreat a little.

The Adelfas by Jens attaches great importance to maintaining hygiene standards, minimum distances and mandatory masks for the staff. “Especially on our terrace, keeping a distance is completely unproblematic. We really do have enough space. And the guest actually only has to put on a mask and disinfect his hands when going to the toilets,” explains the 44-year-old.

Jens Bräuning is proud of his team – his brigade as he calls it. For him, the people who work with him are not just a means to an end. He cooks from the heart and his important endeavour is to pass this ability on to his brigade over the years with great dedication.

The team consists of different nations and is made up partly of old companions and partly of absolute greenhorns. With a team – says Jens – it’s like with a good sauce, it’s all about balance.
